Merry Christmas!

Today is Christmas. In some ways, it is a sort of “Payday”. One way in which it is a payday is through our gift giving. It is a day in which we sort of “pay” our friends and family by expressing our love and appreciation through giving gifts and spending time together. On a side note, don’t forget to occasionally pay yourself. Sometimes, you need to reward yourself, whether it’s through spending time alone, doing something you love to do, or simply enjoying a favorite sugary treat.

Now…more importantly, today is the day on which we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; the man, who through his suffering and sacrifice, opened the path for our sins to be paid for. We must remember, the payment is not automatic. It is only through our faith, repentance, and obedience that Jesus’ suffering and sacrifice will pay for our sins. As we celebrate this holy day and prepare for the next year, may we remember Him and plan now to do those things we need to, to bring us closer to our Lord and Savior.
